PUPPY PRESCHOOL, KINDY AND BEHAVIOURAL ADVICE

Make friends and have fun whilst training your new puppy.

TEACHERS

Belle is our Puppy Preschool  Coordinator. She is passionate about animal care from small to large species with a special interest in puppies and breeding. She has many pets of her own from dogs and chickens to sheep and goats. Belle loves teaching new puppy owners everything there is to know about owning and training their new best friend. In her spare time, Belle competes with her dogs in conformation showing.

PRESCHOOL

Age Groups: Our classes are divided by age. We run a 8-14 week old class and a 14-24 week old class.
Locations: Yallah and Figtree Hospitals. However, in the colder months or raining nights we run in local Day Care facilities like Woof Wonderland at Oak Flats.
Length: 1 hour a week for 4 weeks
Days/Times: Days and times do vary based on demand. We run three classes a week at each hospital on different days and different times from 4.30 to 7.30pm. Please call to book into a class. Full payment is required on booking to ensure your place.

Puppies of any age love our puppy preschool classes, and it’s not just for the complementary treats!

What is it about?

Our 4 week x 1 hour classes at Illawarra Animal Hospital are not just loads of fun but you and your puppy will learn essential puppy skills for life. Our experienced puppy loving teachers will help you teach your puppy to sit, settle, come, stay, drop, walk on a leash, toilet appropriately and many other essential puppy skills for life.

These classes are designed to help your dog make the right choices at home and out in the environment. It is based on playing games with your dog so you both learn in a fun way.

Get Started with Games teaches skills such as:

• Reliable Recall
• Greeting people and dogs politely
• Manners around food
• Loose lead walking
• Crate and boundary games
• Relationship with you
• Fun

Our Vets will also join in the fun to talk about important topics and you have time to ask questions.

Our classes are small and intimate (maximum 5 puppies) with plenty of opportunities to ask questions. You’ll go home with training notes each week, giveaways like Hills puppy food, name tags and discount voucher and it’s great value too! And then there’s maximum cuteness on graduation night!

These classes are for dogs who have had their complete course of vaccinations.

Kids are welcome and encouraged to enjoy the puppy preschool fun, too.

BEHAVIOURAL ADVICE

If you feel like you are having behavioural issues with your pet or behaviours have changed please feel free to book a consultation with a Vet. Sometimes more one on one training is required and all medical aspects can be discussed.
